This handcrafted pottery piece originates from a small artisan community in southern Burkina Faso. The Gurunsi are known for their traditional forms and distinctive black surfaces, achieved through a natural firing process.
Each vessel is built by hand without a wheel, shaped layer by layer and carefully polished. The fine surface texture adds depth and a tactile quality, while the dark clay shifts between matte black and warm brown — a result of open firing with smoke and ash.
Its balanced form integrates seamlessly into contemporary interiors, bringing a quiet sense of authenticity and calm to any space.
