A visit to the trading town of Mopti or the clay mosque of Djenne in Mali is astonishing, because on the way you encounter warriors who herd cattle on the banks of the river.
The Bambara must move their cattle from winter pasture to summer pasture, sometimes a dangerous journey across flooded rivers. Big ceremonies are celebrated. This should protect your valuable cows on their hikes. The Bull Head masks are used on these occasions.
