Kavango Basket #1

The Kavango baskets made from palm fibers followed directly on the undyed baskets traditionally made by Kavango crop farmers for storing, transporting and harvesting grain. The diverse colors are obtained from native plant pigments such as aloe leaves, berries, roots, cattle and leaves.

Each Kavango basket is unique and an expression of the individual creativity of the artist.
