This African, antique bronze leopard comes from the Kingdom of Benin and symbolizes power. Each piece is unique, shaped by hand and then cast in bronze.

Animals and other small bronze objects were used as currency and thus status in West Africa. Their value lies both in the metal used and in the decoration of the sculpture and are among the most valuable cultural treasures in Africa.
