This African, antique bronze head comes from the Kingdom of Benin and symbolizes power. Each piece is unique, shaped by hand and then cast in bronze.

The current rulers of the Kingdom of Benin trace their origins back to a ruling dynasty that began in the 14th century. Brass commemorative heads were commissioned by every Oba (king) in the early years of his reign in honor of his immediate predecessor.
