Traditional coffee tray from Ethiopia.
Coffee is an integral part of Ethiopian culture. Over 12 million Ethiopians earn their living with coffee and produce around 4 million sacks every year, half of which are drunk by them alone. The trays are used at coffee ceremonies that take place three times a day to bring family, friends and relatives together. An invitation to such a ceremony is considered a sign of respect and friendship in Ethiopian culture.
