19th-century Chinese storage vessels with a cream-colored glaze and hand-painted brown decoration.
The surface shows floral motifs, simple linear borders and visible traces of age and use. Variations in the glaze, small irregularities and areas of wear are part of the original character of the pieces.
Cizhou vessels were traditionally used for storing wine and other liquids. These pieces have an egg-shaped body, a narrow neck and a softly rounded shoulder.
