"Tua Tia" (baobab tree basket): The name of this extraordinary basket goes back to its appearance: the fringes hang like leaves on a baobab tree. This tree, also called "mother tree", provides an impressive amount of shade and very sweet fruit.
The Tua Tia baskets are made in the Gurunsi community in Bolgatanga. Each curve is the handprint or signature of the weaver who expertly handcrafted your basket. We love the unique differences in each and every piece.

Water does not harm the basket. In fact, you can reshape the basket by submerging it completely in water and letting it dry in the sun. Small shipping dents can be fixed by submerging the basket in water and reshaping it.
