The weavers are calling this one Tisanie Tia (Strange Tree Basket). Sometimes trees struggle in the hot and dry conditions of the Sahel. They start to assume strange shapes as they climb and, even more so, if their bark is harvested for medicines.

Water does not harm the basket. In fact, you can reshape the basket by submerging it completely in water and letting it dry in the sun. Even small shipping dents can be fixed this way.
