This table lamp was created from an old terracotta vessel from China’s Shandong province. Originally, it was used to store water or oil.
Over many decades, the vessel developed a layered surface with lively colour variations. The patina moves between grey, dark earthy tones and warm, fired nuances. In close detail, the gradual build-up of these layers becomes visible, giving the vessel depth and individuality.
The object is completed with a handcrafted lampshade made from high-quality Belgian linen. In this combination, the conical shape is unusual and shapes the character of the lamp.
