An antique handled box from Shanxi, China, dating back more than 100 years.

Crafted from old elm wood, it retains a deep, brown-black surface with subtle remnants of gold-painted ornament. The tall curved handle and compact wooden body create an almost iconic silhouette. A one-of-one piece with its original patina and signs of age.
