Very large antique black-glazed storage vessel from Shanxi Province, northern China. Originally used as rice container.
Broad body with a defined neck, small side handles and a fitted lid. The dark glazed surface shows visible wear and traces of use. Each vessel is unique, with small differences in shape, glaze, surface, handles and lid.
Best placed beside a console, in an entrance, or as part of a larger composition.
