This piece requires individual freight handling. Please inquire for a shipping quote based on your delivery address.
Very tall antique vessel lamps from Shanxi Province, northern China. Originally used as storage vessels.
Both vessels have a rare vertical form with a narrow body, low neck, and deep black glaze. The surface shows visible wear, traces of use, and natural irregularities. One vessel has a distinct vertical mark in the glaze, exposing a lighter clay tone beneath the dark surface.
Converted into lamps, the vessels retain their original proportions. The natural linen shades were chosen to contrast with the black glaze and to pick up the distinct vertical mark in the glaze of one of the vessels.
Sold as a pair.
