Einzigartiges Holzobjekt eines Stammespferdes mit Reitern, aus Zentralflores, Indonesien, Mitte bis Ende des 20. Jahrhunderts. Das Objekt war Teil eines Dachstuhls einer traditionellen Zeremoniestätte.
Im östlichen Indonesien sind Pferde Symbole für Adel, Status und Macht. Erstmals in der frühen historischen Periode aus Indien eingeführt, spielten Pferde eine wichtige Rolle in der Kultur und Mythologie der östlichen indonesischen Inseln, insbesondere auf Flores und Sumba.
Das Objekt hat durch die Jahre und Witterung eine wundervolle Patina erhalten. Risse im Holz und kleine Fehler machen das Stück nur noch schöner und wertvoller.
