The Namji in northwest Cameroon are famous for their wooden dolls.

The Namji Fertility dolls are considered to be the most beautiful African dolls. They are works of art, hand-carved from wood and then decorated with cowrie shells and colorful beads, each doll is truly unique!

Fertility dolls have traditionally been given to young girls to look after and prepare for their role as mothers.
