The story behind:
These beautifully designed tables (originally stools) are traditionally used in royal ceremonies of the Bamileke tribe in Cameroon. Only the king is allowed to sit on it.
The Bamileke tribe is famous for wood carving skills. All Bamileke tables are hand-carved from one piece of African hardwood.
First the wood is soaked in the river until it is soft enough to process. Then a pattern is cut out that refers to a spider's web, the symbol of wisdom.
