Antique Naga wooden platter, hand-carved from a single piece of solid wood in Nagaland, in the far northeast of India.
Originally used for preparing and serving food, the platter shows a worn surface, visible cut marks, softened edges and natural irregularities from age and use. With its elongated shape and low curved sides, the platter works as a distinctive standalone object.
